Mid-Atlantic Small Craft Festival

The Mid-Atlantic Small Craft Festival will be held this Saturday from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels Maryland. This is a unique event as it is focused as it says on small craft - typically about 20' and under for paddle, sail and oar. There is also an emphasis on using these craft - they're not just for static display.

I've missed out on this for the past few years even though I've been in Maryland on the weekend of the festival. I really need to get down to this event.

I just read about this at 70.8%.
I was not familiar with it at all.

I've not gotten to the event even though I've been in Maryland on the right weekend for about the past three or four years. I have walked past the boat show in Annapolis on those weekends, but not paid to go in. Usually we're down visiting family that lives nearby and taking the kids to the Maryland Renaissance Faire in Crownsville - a fun time.

Carl Cramer had a post on his WoodenBoat of the Week blog about hosting an "amateur built" wooden boat show. I think that events like this and the John Gardener Small Boat Workshop at Mystic Seaport are these events and it would be nice to see WoodenBoat be more involved with these pre-existing events rather than drawing interest away from them.
